Masterprize is a classical music composing competition, run every two years, and one of Room101's
older clients (since 1999). This challenging project has involved Room101 in many ground-breaking
technologies, including RealAudio and Microsoft Streaming Audio publication of the short-listed
works, online voting for members of the public, publishing of translated rules in many languages
including Japanese (Kanji) and Russian.
Sponsored by leading industry players such as ClassicFM, EMI Classics, Gramophone, the LSO and
National Public Radio (NPR), the competition has a widely recognised international standing,
and the quality of entries in both the 1999 and 2001 competitions has been unrivalled.
