Room 101 Limited was founded in January 1998 by Richard Fincher and Stéphane Israel, with the aim of offering affordable web site design services to small and medium sized enterprises. Fincher produced the web sites, whilst Israel provided Sales and Marketing expertise, in addition to running a Filemaker Pro programming service. After the first year, Stéphane left to pursue opportunities in Denmark, and Richard bought him out of his share in 1999, becoming the sole owner/proprietor.
Stephen Moorhouse joined the company in 2000, going on to become Production Director, leaving Fincher free to expand the company's range of hosting services, based on the datacentre presence first established in 1999.
Rajesh Wadhwani joined the company in July 2007 as a Web Developer. He now heads up the web development team, which now focusses on the technical side of web site production, whilst Fincher specialises in web site migrations, domain name services, and sales and marketing for the company.
